UNLOCK THE MYSTERY OF CAMBODIA
Fascinating Cambodia is one of the best kept secrets in Asia. The country was once part of the powerful Khmer Empire; later it became a melting pot of religions like Buddhism and Hinduism. During this six-day trip your party will become intimately acquainted with all the wonders that Cambodia has to offer.
After a stopover in Bangkok you'll arrive in Siem Reap, which is a stone's throw from Angkor Wat - the ‘Holy Temple City’. You'll enjoy a light lunch before visiting the Angkor National Museum, where you can admire numerous artefacts from the ancient Khmer kingdom.
The next day a traditional tuk-tuk will bring you to the ancient, walled city of Angkor Thom and the magnificent Bayon temple, famous for its 54 towers with four Buddha faces. Before noon you'll head to the Ta Prohm temple, one of the most beautiful temples on the site. It's located in the middle of the jungle and it still looks like it did 1000 years ago. After lunch you'll be ready for the highlight of the day: the temple of Angkor Wat. The Hindu temple is considered the largest religious monument in the world. Its mysterious aesthetics makes it the symbol of Cambodia.
The next day you'll board an authentic wooden boat for a trip on Tonlé Sap Lake, one of the largest lakes in Asia. Afterwards you'll head to the capital Phnom Penh, the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda.
After a calm night in the magnificent, colonial Raffles Hotel you'll visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, where you'll undoubtedly fall silent when confronted with the thousands of Khmer Rouge victims. The incentive ends in style at the private Song Saa Island, which will appeal to your imagination. For one night and one whole day you can enjoy the serenity and lazy beach-life rhythm of this tropical paradise.
